QC: Vintage Bird Tags

Materials

  • For Bluebird and Cardinal:
  • Chipboard (trimmed to tag shape), two
  • Vintage bird images. (Note: Designer used images from a vintage bird field guide)
  • Ledger Paper Circle Journaling Stickers (Making Memories)
  • Black Twill Tape (Wrights)
  • Ultra Fine Prisma Glitter (Hero Arts)
  • For Black Birds:
  • Holiday Collection Combo Paper Back (Webster’s Pages)
  • Kraft cardstock
  • Shipping Tags (Avery)
  • Tinsel Brad Combo (Making Memories): Blue Snowflakes
  • Black Twill Tape (Wrights)
  • Crystals (eyes) (Pure Allure)

  • Bluebird and Cardinal:
  • Adhesives (Beacon Adhesives): Zip Dry Paper Glue; Gem-Tac Permanent Adhesive
  • For Black Birds:
  • Clear stamps: For the Birds (Fiskars); Girlfriend Font (Rusty Pickle)
  • Inkpads (Tsukineko): Onyx Black Versafine Pigment; Sea Breeze VersaMagic Chalk
  • Hole punch, 1/4”
  • Zip Dry Paper Glue (Beacon Adhesives)

Basic Supplies

Directions

Bluebird and Cardinal

  • 1. Add Ledger Paper Circle Journaling Stickers (Making Memories), vintage field-guide images, and black twill tape to chipboard tags.
  • 2. Edge with Gem-Tac glue (Beacon) and Primsa glitter (Hero Arts).
  • 3. Tie twill tape bows and adhere to tags.

Black Birds

  • 1. Stamp black For The Birds images (Fiskars) onto cream snowflake paper (Webster's Pages)
  • 2. Cut around images forming squares, ink edges Sea Breeze and adhere to blue patterned paper.
  • 3. Tear shipping tags underneath reinforcement, ink torn edge Sea Breeze and adhere to blue patterned paper above bird images.
  • 4. Trim papers into tag shape, making wider at bottom than top.
  • 5. Mat tags onto Kraft card stock.
  • 6. Punch holes in tops of tags, using shipping tag reinforcement as a guide.
  • 7. Tie twill tape onto tops of tags. Trim ends.
  • 8. Adhere crystal to bird’s eye and snowflake brad to stamped images as shown.
