Directions

STEP 1

  • Adults, help kids when baking clay in oven.

STEP 2

  • On clean work surface, remove clay from package. To condition, roll clay in hands until soft, bending and rolling until pliable. If clay cracks, keep conditioning.

STEP 3

  • For each robot, roll one 1" ball (body) and one 1/2" ball (head) from Silver clay. Slightly flatten and form balls into square or rectangle shapes. Use work surface to create shapes.

STEP 4

  • Measure and cut 4" silver wire length. Insert wire length into body; press head onto other wire end. Coil and twist wire end onto top of head.

STEP 5

  • For arms and legs, measure and cut four 3" silver wire lengths. Twist wire length around pencil, creating coil shape. Repeat for remaining three wire lengths. Insert arms and legs into body.

STEP 6

  • For hands and feet, roll four tiny Silver clay balls. Form shapes into hands and feet; press balls on ends of coiled wire lengths.

STEP 7

  • For eyes and mouth, press snaps, bolts, springs, and nuts onto head as desired. For lights, press red seed beads onto body and head.

STEP 8

  • Position robot on parchment-lined baking sheet. Follow manufacturer's instructions to bake robot in oven. Let cool completely.
