Materials

  • NaturallyCaron.com Spa yarn (75% Microdenier Acrylic/25% Bamboo; 3 oz./85 g., 251 yds./230m skein): 12 (14, 16, 18, 20, 22) oz (A), 2 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) oz (B), 2 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) oz (C): Ocean Spray (A); Berry Frappe (B); Green Sheen (C).

Tools

  • Crochet hooks: size US H-8 (5mm) (or size to obtain gauge); US I-9 (5.5mm) (for cowl only) (or size to obtain gauge).
  • Stitch markers.
  • Yarn needle.

Stitch Type

  • FPdc: >Front-post double crochet-Yarn over, insert hook from front to back and then to front again around post of stitch, yarn over and draw up loop, complete as dc.

Directions

Gauge

  • 1. In pattern, with smaller hook, 5 pattern repeats and 12 rows = 4"/10cm.
  • 2. In ribbing pattern, with larger hook, 13 sts and 14 rows = 4"/10cm.
  • 3. Notes: One pattern repeat consists of one (dc, ch 1, sc, ch 1) on RS rounds, and one (sc, ch 3) on WS rounds. Gauge is "as crocheted". Fabric will stretch as you work (armhole depth will lengthen) and as garment is worn.

Notes

  • 1. Sweater and cowl are worked separately and can be worn together or separately.
  • 2. Sweater is worked from the neck down to armholes. The piece is then divided to form armholes, and the body is worked from the armholes down to the lower hem.
  • 3. Sleeves are worked directly into armholes and worked from armholes down to lower edge.
  • 4. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over, yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color.
