Directions

Note

  • 1. For best results, please read all instructions before beginning project. Refer to photo for color and design placement. Shake bottles of paint well prior to using.

Plate Preperation

  • 1. Wipe plates with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.
  • 2. Print and cut out pattern. Trace rooster patterns onto contact paper with felt pen. Cut out with craft knife.
  • 3. Remove backing and adhere cutouts to center of each plate. Make sure edges are pressed firmly to ware to seal from paint seepage.
  • 4. Use pencil to lightly mark plate rims on tops, bottoms and sides, making sure the marks are center on rim. Place leaf pattern with graphite paper underneath it on each mark and trace over leaf.
  • 5. Mark center points between leaving and repeat transferring leaf design. Add as many leaves will fit around rims of plates.
  • 6. Squeeze Pure White French Dimensions over all leaves. Let dry.

Dinner Plate

  • 1. Pour a large puddle of Lake Blue onto foam plate. Sponge first coat onto front of plate over the rooster cutout and the raised leaf border. Let dry then apply two more coats using fan glaze brush, letting dry between coats.
  • 2. Remove rooster cutout. Pour small amounts of Yellow Orange, Tomato Red and Black onto plate or foil. Using liner, paint three coats of each color onto rooster, referring to photo. Let dry between coats.
  • 3. Pour a small amount of Walnut Brown onto palette. Using a dry Fan Glaze brush, drag through color, wipe excess off onto paper plate and lightly brush over random areas of plate to create a distressed look. Refer to photo. Let dry.
  • 4. Brush three coats of Lake Blue onto back of plate, letting dry between coats. Repeat creating the distressed look using Walnut Brown. Let dry.

Salad Plate

  • 1. Repeat steps used with Dinner Plate, but basecoat with Apricot. Refer to photo for rooster colors.
  • 2. Distress with Walnut Brown.

Dessert Plate

  • 1. Repeat steps above, basecoating with Yellow Orange and following rooster coloration in photo. Distress with Walnut Brown. Let dry.

Finishing

  • 1. Fire plates to witness cone 06. May be dryfooted or unstilted.
  • 2. Once plates are fired and cool, brush two coats of Pure Brillianceâ„¢ Clear Glaze on each plate, letting dry between applications. Let dry.
  • 3. Stilt and fire to witness cone 06.
