  • Safari Spinner Bookmarks


  • Cardstock: green, beige, yellow, brown, orange, white, black
  • Wooden alphabet letters
  • Felt: green, dark green
  • DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paints: Mustard Seed, Leaf Green, Cherry Red, Dark Chocolate
  • Marvy Uchida Paper Punches: Mega Scalloped Circle, Super Jumbo Circle, Extra Jumbo Circle, Jumbo Circle, Mega Scalloped Oval
  • Wiggle eyes, two
  • Black cording


  • White marker
  • Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Black marker
  • Paintbrush
  • Newspaper (to cover work surface)
  • 1. For each bookmark, measure and cut 3-1/2"x8" cardstock rectangle. Position scalloped circle punch on top of bookmark; punch circle. (Or trace and cut scalloped circle on one end of bookmark.)
  • 2. For each animal, punch two 2" circles from cardstock. Use circle punches to punch ears and muzzles. Cut ear circles in half. Use photo as guide to glue pieces on each animal. Glue wiggle eyes on faces.
  • 3. For each spinner, measure and cut 4" black cording length. Position black cording over center of punched circle on bookmark. Glue cording ends on back of bookmark. Glue animal head on center of cording and other circle on back of head. Let dry.
  • 4. On covered work surface, paint wooden alphabet letters to spell: WILD, NUTS, SMART, and READ in colors of choice. Let dry. Use white and black markers to outline edges.
  • 5. Glue words on bookmarks. Use black marker to write sayings and draw outline on bookmarks.
  • 6. For leaves, cut oval leaf shapes from green and dark green felt. Glue leaves on edge of spinners.
