  • Recycled toilet paper tubes, two
  • Wooden items: two large ovals, one medium teardrop, two medium ovals, craft stick
  • DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paints: Santa Red, Snow White, Primary Yellow, True Blue, Flesh Tone, Dark Chocolate
  • Wiggle eyes, two
  • Red buttons, two
  • Chenille stem
  • Plastic foam, scrap
  • Tissue paper: yellow, orange
  • Craft glue


  • Black marker
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrushes
  • Newspaper (to cover work surface)
  • 1. Measure and cut one toilet paper tube to 3" length. Cut 1" slits on one end of tube. From other toilet paper tube, cut 1" section (for candle ring). Glue tubes together, along cut slits, forming candle stick. Glue candle ring on side of candle stick.
  • 2. On covered work surface, paint candle stick and ring Santa Red, one large oval (sign) Snow White, other large oval (Jack) 1/3 Flesh Tone, 1/3 Primary Yellow, and 1/3 True Blue. Paint Jack's hair Dark Chocolate and remaining shapes and craft stick Primary Yellow. Let dry.
  • 3. Use marker to outline wooden shapes and write "Jack be Nimble" on sign.
  • 4. Glue two medium ovals (arms) on back of Jack. Glue red buttons and wiggle eyes on Jack.
  • 5. For flame, glue teardrop on end of craft stick.
  • 6. Insert foam scrap in bottom of candle stick. Glue craft stick in foam. Glue chenille stem on back of Jack. Insert chenille stem in foam scrap. Glue tissue paper (flames) around top of candle stick. Let dry.
