Vintage Monogrammed Vase

  • Galvanized tin vase, 12”x22”
  • Patterned papers: black/white leaf (The Paper Studio); small dots (GCD Studios); Ode to a Butterfly (Graphic 45); script print (Prima Marketing)
  • Black cardstock
  • Beveled-edge chipboard letter (Anna Griffin), 4”
  • Chipboard scroll
  • Paper slide mounts, two
  • Assorted embellishments: silk flowers; metal clips; black brad; antiqued brad; self-adhesive crystals
  • Photos of choice
  • FolkArt Acrylic Paint (Plaid): Titanium White


  • Numeral rubber stamps
  • Black pigment ink
  • Mod Podge (Plaid)
  • Foam brush.
  • Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue (iLoveToCreate)
  • Paper trimmer
  • Craft knife
  • Hole punch
  • Rubber bands
  • 1. Measure height of vase. Use paper trimmer to cut all papers (except script) to 2" x measurement of vase height. Cut approximately 12 strips. Follow manufacturer's instructions to decoupage papers to vase, slightly overlapping.
  • 2. Cut 8" circle from black cardstock. Decoupage circle to center of vase. Glue chipboard letter to center of cardstock circle. Carefully wrap vase with rubber bands to secure while drying.
  • 3. Paint chipboard scroll Titanium White. When dry, punch hole at top and attach black brad.
  • 4. Glue one side of slide mount to wrong side of script patterned paper. Let dry and use craft knife to trim paper edges even with slide mount. Glue photos to center of slide mounts. Stamp year on bottom of one slide mount if desired. Glue scroll to top of monogram.
  • 5. Insert brad into hole of metal clip and flange. Glue clip, silk flower and remaining photo mounts to vase. Adhere stones to edges of cardstock circle.
