Gold Faberge Egg

  • Dow STYROFOAM Brand Foam: 5” egg
  • Recycled water bottle
  • Gold tissue paper
  • Gold paper doilies
  • Jacquard Lumiere Paints: Sunset Gold
  • Gold rickrack
  • Gold ribbon
  • Assorted rhinestones and faux gems
  • Gold/pearl buttons, four


  • Aleene’s: Collage Pauge Instant Decoupage, Original Tacky Glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Paintbrush
  • Newspaper (to cover work surface)
  • 1. Measure and cut top 3" from water bottle (for egg stand). Glue plastic-foam egg on stand. Let dry.
  • 2. On covered work surface, apply decoupage medium on egg. Tear 1" gold tissue paper squares. Press squares on egg and stand, covering all areas. Let dry.
  • 3. Paint egg and stand Sunset Gold. Let dry.
  • 4. Glue gold rickrack around stand. Cut small triangles from gold doily. Glue triangles between rickrack strips. Let dry.
  • 5. Glue triangle doilies around bottom of egg. Glue gold ribbon between triangles, criss-crossing over top of egg. See photo. Glue ribbon around stand. Let dry.
  • 6. Glue buttons, rhinestones, and gems on egg. Let dry.
