Pattern - Country Cherries Set

  • Note
  • 1. Use three strands floss for all embroidery.
  • Apron
  • 1. For pocket, use True Red to stamp cherries in center of one white fabric square. Sew 6" fabric squares together with right sides facing in, 1/4" from edges, leaving 3" opening along one side for turning. Trim seam at corners. Turn stitched square right side out through opening. Hand sew opening closed.
  • 2. Blanket stitch across top of pocket. Pin pocket to top left side of white/red check towel. Blanket stitch around sides and bottom of pocket to secure it to apron. Blanket stitch over bottom edge of apron.
  • 3. Pin ribbon across top of apron with ends of ribbon extending evenly at sides. (Note: Top of ribbon should be 5/8" from top of towel.) Sew close to finished edges of ribbon, leaving an opening at both sides of towel for inserting elastic. Attach safety pin to one end of elastic. Insert elastic through ribbon casing on apron. (Note: Use straight pins to secure ends of elastic to sides of apron until they are stitched.) Machine stitch over elastic on both sides of apron.
  • Towel
  • 1. Use True Red to stamp cherries evenly spaced across bottom front of towel.
  • 2. Blanket stitch over bottom edge of towel.
  • Oven Mitt
  • 1. Print and cut out pattern. Cut four mitt shapes from red towel and four mitt shapes from batting. Use White Wash to stamp cherries in center of one red mitt.
  • 2. Baste batting mitts to back of red mitts.
  • 3. Place mitt shapes together in pairs with right sides facing in. Sew across bottom of mitts 1/2" from straight edge. Turn shapes so right side is facing out.
  • 4. Place assembled front and back mitt shapes together with right sides facing in. Sew around sides and top of mitt, 1/2" from edges, leaving finished bottom edge open. Clip seam between thumb and fingers. Machine sew zigzag stitch over raw edges of mitt to prevent unraveling. Turn mitt right side out.
