Materials

  • Fabrics: designer print (Michael Miller); white
  • Pink stitched ribbon (Offray)

Tools

  • Rubber Stamps (Cornish Heritage Farms): Making the Grade; Quirky Alphabet
  • Ink Pads (Palette Metallics): Satin Sage; Crimson Polish; Plum Pearl; Radiant Rose; Violet Varnish; Lustrous Lilac
  • Sewing machine and matching threads
  • Iron and pressing board
  • 1. Cut: 13"x21" rectangle and 5-1/2"x21" strip from white fabric; 13"x21" rectangle and 2"x21" strip from designer fabric.
  • 2. Fold and press 2"-wide strip in half lengthwise, pressing raw edges under. Tuck 5-1/2"x21" white strip into fold and sew.
  • 3. Use assorted inks to stamp colored pencils on white panel. Heat set with iron.
  • 4. With wrong sides facing, sew stamped panel to front of 13"x21" white panel.
  • 5. Sew pocket lines between stamped pencils.
  • 6. Stamp "Color My World" as shown. Heat set with iron.
  • 7. With right sides together, sew front and back panels together, leaving an opening for turning and catching ribbon ties in stitching.
  • 8. Turn right side out through opening. Hand sew opening closed. Press and fill pockets with colored pencils.
