Directions

  • Candleholder

  • 2. Mask off 1” area immediately under neck of jar using painter’s tape.
  • 3. Apply slightly heavy coat of chalkboard paint from neck of jar to base using foam brush. Let air dry.
  • 4. Once chalkboard paint is completely dry with no shiny areas, remove tape masks slowly and gently.
  • 5. Adhere washi tape around jar at top edge of chalkboard paint.
  • 6. Cover washi tape with light coat of gel medium using craft brush to seal.
  • 7. Paint glitter gel around outside perimeter of heart using fine-tipped brush; let dry.
  • 8. When glitter gel has dried, add dots around heart outside of glitter border using Big White Pen.
  • 9. Rub Gelatos® on different areas of chalkboard paint; blend with fingers to create patina, light distressing, and shimmer.
  • 10. Double-wrap baker’s twine around neck of jar; tie in bow and trim ends. Adhere flowers to bow using adhesive dots.
  • 11. To use, fill with sand to just below bottom point of heart; add candle.
  • Tip
  • 1. If any areas of chalkboard paint are still shiny, then the paint has not completely dried. Let dry a little longer to get best results.
