Materials

  • Patterned Papers: Halloween Party; Halloween Stripes (American Traditional Designs)
  • Cardstock: orange; purple
  • Plastic toy maze game with removable backing
  • Tiny Alphas alphabet stickers*
  • Small Tags: Halloween Phrases*
  • Grosgrain ribbon, 8” lengths: black with white stitching; black/white gingham
  • Small Diaper Pins*: Purple; Green

Tools

  • Chalk Ink: Charcoal (Clearsnap)
  • Corner rounder
  • Self-Adhesive Magnetic Snaps (Basic Grey)
  • Zip Dry Paper Glue (Beacon Adhesives)
  • Paper trimmer

Directions

  • Pumpkin Card
  • 1. Cut 4”x8” rectangle from orange cardstock. Fold and score to make 4”x4” card. Round outside corners and lightly ink edges.
  • 2. Carefully remove backing from maze game. Trace cardboard backing around pumpkin image on patterned paper; cut out. Glue image to cardboard backing. (Note: Keep small metal ball inside game.) Replace cardboard backing.
  • 3. Cut 3”x3” square from Halloween Stripes paper. Round corners and ink edges. Glue to center of card. Adhere one magnetic snap to center of card and one to back of game; snap together to adhere game to card front.
  • 4. Tie stitched black ribbon around left side of card so card opens from side and knot at top. Lightly ink “Happy Halloween” tag and use purple diaper pin to attach tag to knot.
  • 5. Adhere alphabet stickers to spell “Have a ball.”
  • Mummy Card
  • 1. Cut 4”x8” rectangle from purple cardstock. Fold and score to make 4”x4” card. Round outside corners and lightly ink edges.
  • 2. Carefully remove backing from maze game. Trace cardboard backing around mummy image on patterned paper; cut out. Glue image to cardboard backing. (Note: Keep small metal ball inside game.) Replace cardboard backing.
  • 3. Cut 3”x3” square from Halloween Stripes paper. Round corners and ink edges. Glue to center of card. Adhere one magnetic snap to center of card and one to back of game; snap together to adhere game to card front.
  • 4. Tie gingham ribbon around top of card so card opens from bottom and knot at top. Lightly ink “Halloween” tag and use green diaper pin to attach to knot.
