Christmas Character Napkin Rings


size: 3-1/2” tall

Materials

  • White cloth napkins
  • Patterned papers: red; lime green; yellow; orange; pink; lime/white floral; multicolored stripe; large blue print; flesh
  • Cardstock: white; black
  • Self-adhesive gold glitter paper
  • Black brad
  • Mini brads: gold; black

Tools

  • Black fine-tip permanent marker
  • Craft punches: hole, 1/16”; circle, 1/2”, 3/4”; star
  • Paper crimper

Directions

  • 1. Trace and cut out patterns.
  • Snowman
  • 1. For hat, cut 3-1/4”x7-1/2” rectangle from white cardstock and 1-1/2”x7-1/2” strip from stripe paper. Glue strip to rectangle. Cut 1-1/4”x7-1/2” strip; glue across bottom of white rectangle.
  • 2. Cut carrot nose from orange paper. For cheeks, punch two 1/2” circles from pink paper and two 3/4” circles from red paper. Glue nose and cheeks to center of rectangle. Draw mouth. Punch 1/16” holes at eye dots; attach black mini brads.
  • 3. Cut 1/2”x9” strip from gold paper; crimp, trim to 7-1/2” length, and adhere to bottom of hat. Punch gold paper star; adhere to top of hat. Punch 1/16” hole in star; attach gold mini brad.
  • 4. Fold napkin in half and roll. Wrap ring around rolled napkin, overlapping ends and apply dab of glue to secure.
  • Penguin
  • 1. For hat, cut 3-1/4” rectangle from black cardstock and 1-1/2”x7-1/2” strip from blue paper. Glue strip to rectangle. Cut 1/4”x7-1/2” strip from green print paper; glue across bottom of white rectangle.
  • 2. Cut face from white cardstock and beak from yellow paper. For cheeks, punch two 1/2” circles from pink paper and two 3/4” circles from red paper. Glue face, beak, and cheeks to center of rectangle. Punch 1/16” holes at eye dots; attach black mini brads.
  • 3. Follow steps 4 and 5 from Snowman instructions.
  • Polar Bear
  • 1. For hat, cut 3-1/4”x7-1/2” rectangle from white cardstock and 1-1/2”x7-1/2” strip from green print paper. Glue strip to rectangle.
  • 2. For cheeks, punch two 1/2” circles from pink paper and two 3/4” circles from red paper. Glue cheeks to center of rectangles. Draw muzzle lines. Punch 1/16” holes at eye and nose; attach black mini brads to eye dots and black brad to nose.
  • 3. Follow steps 4 and 5 from Snowman instructions.
  • Santa
  • 1. For hat, cut 3-1/4”x7-1/2” rectangle from white cardstock and 1-1/2”x7-1/2” strip from red paper. Glue strip to rectangle. Cut 1/4”x7-1/2” strip from green print paper; glue across bottom of white rectangle.
  • 2. Cut face from flesh cardstock and mustache pieces from crimped white cardstock. For cheeks and nose, punch three 1/2” circles from pink paper and two 3/4” circles from red paper. Glue face, cheeks, mustache, and nose to center of rectangle. Punch 1/16” holes at eye dots; attach black mini brads.
  • 3. Follow steps 4 and 5 from Snowman instructions.
