Heart Photo Frame

  • Heart Photo Frame


  • Prang DAS White Air Hardening Modeling Clay
  • Prang Tempera Paints: White, Red
  • Clay-dedicated rolling pin or wooden dowel
  • Cookie cutters: small circle, small heart
  • Ribbon, 8" length
  • Old or promo credit card (for cutter)


  • Paintbrush
  • Wax paper
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Newspaper (to cover work surface)
  • 1. Cover work surface with wax paper. Remove clay from package. To condition, roll clay in hands until soft, bending and rolling until pliable. If clay cracks, keep conditioning.
  • 2. Use clay-dedicated rolling pin to roll clay into 1/4"-thick sheet. Use ruler to measure and mark 5" square. Use old credit card to cut out square.
  • 3. Press circle cookie cutter into center of square (for photo opening). Remove clay. Use pencil to poke holes (for hanger) above circle on top of square. Let dry overnight.
  • 4. Roll remaining clay into 1/4"-thick sheet. Use small heart cookie cutter to cut hearts from clay. Let dry overnight.
  • 5. On covered work surface, paint frame pink or red and hearts pink, red, and white. (Mix red and white for pink paint.) Let dry. Glue hearts on frame.
  • 6. For hanger, measure and cut 8" length of ribbon. Thread ribbon through holes on top of frame; knot ends. Tape photo in opening.
