Materials

  • Jesse James Beads Petite Strand #69 Kashmiri-Style Beads
  • Lampwork glass beads: turquoise/gold/white rounds, 13x11mm, two; turquoise/gold drops, 18x16mm, six
  • Gold textured puffed flattened round beads, 10mm, 16
  • Turquoise crackled glass rounds, 4mm, 28
  • Gold twisted wire ball beads, 12mm, two
  • Gold seed beads, 56
  • Gold findings: jump rings, 6mm, seven; wire guardians, two; crimp tubes, size #2, two; lobster clasp
  • Gold beading wire, 0.018” thick

Tools

  • Jewelry pliers: chain-nose, two pairs; crimping
  • Flush cutters

Basic Supplies

  • ruler
  • 1. Attach one jump ring to each lampwork drop, making sure jump ring is closed with no gap.

  • 2. Cut 26" beading wire length. String one end of wire through crimp tube, then through both arms of wire guardian. Hook one jump ring onto wire guardian. Thread beading wire back through crimp tube, leaving 1" tail.

  • 3. Slide crimp tube up to wire guardian, keeping two wires together but uncrossed. Position crimp tube in oval-shaped opening closest to tip of pliers. Compress tube until oval-shaped.

  • 4. Position crimp tube in notched center opening of crimping pliers; compress so wires are on each side of center indentation.

  • 5. Position crimp tube back in opening closest to tip of pliers with indentation facing handle; compress two wings onto each other.
  • 6. (Note: Thread both wires through every bead in necklace.) String beads onto wires as follows: crackled glass round, gold seed bead, gold flattened round, gold seed bead. Repeat seven more times for total of eight sets.

  • 7. String crackled glass round, two seed beads, lampwork drop, two seed beads, and crackled glass round onto wire.
  • 8. String gold wire bead.

  • 9. Repeat Step 7.
  • 10. String lampwork round, repeat Step 7, and string Kashmiri-style bead for necklace center.

  • 11. String other side of necklace to match.
  • 12. String crimp tube, wire guardian, and lobster clasp. Insert beading wire back through crimp tube and into crackled glass round. Pull beads up to remove slack and crimp as before. Trim excess wire close to bead.
