Crocheted Red Earrings

  • Crocheted Red Earrings

Materials

  • Pepperell Braiding Stretch Magic Bead & Jewelry Cord, 1-1/2 yds.
  • Red seed beads, 156
  • Silver jewelry findings, two each: hoops, 25mm; jump rings, 3.5mm; fishhook ear wires

Tools

  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Steel crochet hook, US 9
  • Super glue

Basic Supplies

  • scissors, sewing needle

Abbreviations

ch: chain
rep: repeat
sc: single crochet

  • 1. Use pliers to bend straight end of hoop at right angle about 1/4" from end. Close hoop by putting bent wire under loop at other end; crimp closed.
  • 2. Thread beads onto cord, leaving 2" tail. Form slip knot. *sc around ring, slide down 6 beads, ch 1 * rep 13 times and tie off leaving 2" tail.
  • 3. Tie both tails together in knot and dab with super glue. When dry, cut off tails. (Note: If using jewelry wire, twist tails together and slide 1/2" into stitches; cut off end.) Use pliers and attach jump ring onto earring and fishhook ear wire.
